Lucy Mellow serves as the Secretary of Small & Gutsy and is a Consumer Insights leader with a reputation for analyzing and leveraging research to deliver business building insights including increasing market share and identifying new product opportunities. Her experience spans across diverse categories, including business to business (Xerox Corporation), personal care products (SmithKline Beecham Consumer Brands), household products (S.C. Johnson & Son), and pharmaceuticals (AbbVie). Lucy’s competencies include process development and organizational and team leadership. Across employers, Lucy was adept at collaborating with all layers of management (C-Suite and down), cross functional groups, and diverse managerial styles. She was also recognized as a top performer with a solid reputation for hiring, training, coaching, and mentoring top talent. Lucy received three Officers Awards at SC Johnson and two President Awards at AbbVie.
Lucy received her MBA with a Marketing Concentration from Washington University Graduate School of Business (Olin) in St. Louis, Missouri. She earned her BA with dual majors in Economics and French from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
For the last five years, Lucy has been a team member on the Remembering Robbie team at the University of Wisconsin – Madison Out of the Darkness Walk benefiting Suicide Prevention. Past volunteer roles include Make A Wish “wish granter”, S.C. Johnson United Way Annual Campaign Lead (generating over $600K in contributions), and aid for an individual family in need.
